Fall registration is underway…So Pick a CLASS & TIME for your child or school group and Register by September 5th! Located at All Souls Church (Lex. and 80th) Art Adventures leads small groups, 4-10 kids at a time, in what we firmly believe is the “Best Art Program in the City.”
Art is from 2-12’s/ Acting for up to 16 years.
There is a lot of feedback on how to do this, but the best way that takes the least time is to hire a professional! Armed with more than pencil and paper, CCA tours engage and enlighten with myriad materials…. And show how to do it on your own. CCA tip: Make it a Child-Directed trip- Ask 
these questions about each piece they are drawn to:
What materials is it made from?
How do you think they did it?
Guess what the artist was thinking when they made it?
What do you like?
What do you not like?
How would you make your own version?
If you’re nervous about bringing more than a pencil & paper, make a list of what your child needs to make their own version, go together to get the supplies and follow it up at home.
Imagine how excited they will get about art. And the interest they will have on their next visit!

We were there on days 10-14, when they were “inking” in the black. The crew walked us through the process, showed us their materials, the written instructions (this was cool) and were fabulous with the kids and their questions! (and ours:)

Through June 7th @NYPL for Performing Arts on the UWS
Museum Adventures took Lauren Pohl, founder of Kidz Central Station, on a tour for 4-5’s to visit a list of artists tailored to young learners: Rosenquist, Yves Tinguely, Roy Lichtenstein and Ellsworth Kelly. In just one tour (at the Metropolitan Museum of Art), we learned about advertising, color and everyday objects (Rosenquist), discovered lines in everyday objects (Tinguely), made lines, dots and patterns (Lichtenstein) and made our very own color wheels and color-mixing window collages (Ellsworth Kelly)! There wasn’t much time to explore the stop-motion animation of William Kentridge’s installation, Refusal of Time, nor Al Held’s colored shapes… but then again, a good tour knows when to stop, leaving more for next time! Cold dreary days looking out of my window inspired the use of vellum and a basic color-mixing lesson using copies of his animals to draw or trace, color and overlay with colorful blues, pinks and yellows to make the secondary colors…
