2020 is the year of the rat, so we used our new materials to draw a rat and the chinese symbol for rat.
Writing in permanent ink is not easy! After reviewing the “5 families of Line and Shape,” students learned how to discern which direction the line is going, what type of line it is, where it intersects with the others… in order to draw then write “RAT” in Chinese.
Abstraction of lines- with the addition of iridescent watercolors- sure did add another dimension to this project!
