Our finale to les Printemps 2019 was at the Metropolitan Museum of Art! We took one last art adventure exploring Modern, Contemporary & Fashion Art!

Highlighted exhibits included Epic Abstraction & Camp: Notes on Fashion

William Kentridge yesterday inspires yet more creative projects for CCA.

Last night, Claire had the honor of meeting Mr. Kentridge at the “Head & the Load” performance at the Park Avenue Armory and shared with him her passion for bringing his work into the classroom for children.

Welcome to July and Summertime! Happy 4th! As we all prepare for our BBQ’s, beach time & NYC roof top fun, we are also SO EXCITED about all the Art fun we’re planning for our Fall Season.

Matisse Cutout Inspired Bubble Painting

Multi-layered Transparency Bubble Sea Painting: Project Tailored for ALL AGES!

All you need:

different color construction paper

watercolor paper

scissors + gluestick + straws

small plastic containers (to mix your food coloring & bubble solution together!)

food coloring

and of course BUBBLES!

 

1- Mix your favorite color in your bubble solution. Make as many different colors as you like!

2-Using a straw for each color, dip your straw in your “bubble” paint and VERY gently blow through the straw from the other end onto your watercolor paper. (It will take a couple of tries!)

Bubble Painting Fun for both indoors and out!

3-Mix and match “bubble paint” colors!

4- Choose your favorite colors from construction paper and cut out organic shapes!

5-After your “bubble paint” drys, arrange & glue your organic shape “cutouts” onto your “bubble painting”

Stop-Motion Animation At Art Adventures June Camp

Inspired by William Kentridge (click link for more on the artist) and his charcoal stop-motion animations during our week 1 of June Art Camp…we created our own! Working in teams, our 8-9 year old campers created Charcoal Drawing animations while our 5-6 year old campers created Dry Erase Marker Drawing animations.  These teams created new friendships through their daunting collaborations!

Spring Semester Ends with ART Flying and soaring to Summer ART CAMP!

We’re designing and flying Kites in Central Park for our final week of the Spring Semester at Art Adventures. Adventurers create stained glass style kites with magical creatures as inspired by the work of Marc Chagall! While our Studio class takes inspiration from nature painting mini landscapes of their surroundings on their kites. Excited to see ART soar through the sky this week and even more thrilled for another successful Art Adventure this year! Thank you for another great year and see you for Summer Camp this June and for our Fall Semester!
